Not every puppy is meant for every home

Hey Reader

We know how easy it is to fall in love with a puppy photo.
Floppy ears, sleepy eyes, sweet little paws… it’s hard not to melt.

But when it comes to choosing the right puppy, it’s about more than just looks or who licks your hand first.

It’s about fit.

That’s why we don’t let families “pick” their puppy the traditional way.

We match them, carefully, intentionally, and based on who that puppy truly is.

Here’s how it works…

Every Fox Ridge puppy goes through a full temperament evaluation at seven weeks of age.

We look at how they respond to new situations, how quickly they recover from stress, how people-oriented they are, how much energy they naturally carry, and how they handle boundaries and guidance.

We’re looking at the whole picture, not just how friendly or playful they are, but how their natural traits line up with real life.

So when a family reaches out and tells us they have a quiet home, work from home, love slow walks and a calm routine… we’re not going to pair them with a bold, high-drive puppy that needs non stop adventure.

We’re going to match them with the puppy who thrives in that peaceful rhythm.

Same goes for busy families, first-time dog owners, active homes, homes with kids… there’s a puppy for each of those situations, and we work hard to find the one who fits.

Because a good match doesn’t just make the first few weeks easier.

It shapes the bond, the experience, the entire relationship for years to come.

So when you apply for a Fox Ridge Golden, we won’t ask you to pick from a list.

We’ll ask you to tell us about your lifestyle, your routines, your hopes, and your home.

And then we’ll guide you to the puppy that’s most likely to thrive there.

We’re not here to send you home with any puppy.

We’re here to help you find your puppy.

Pups and love,
Dindy & Ken

P.S. The “first to run up” isn’t always the right one. And the shy one in the corner might just be your perfect match. We’ll help you figure that out, promise.

Reader, There’s a reason puppy owners joke about living with a “land shark.” One minute your Golden is sweet and cuddly, the next they’re coming at you with teeth sharp enough to pierce through jeans. It feels personal… but it’s not. It’s just biology. Teething is one of the messiest, most misunderstood phases of puppyhood. And if you don’t know what’s normal, and what’s not, you’ll spend those months frustrated, covered in bite marks, and wondering if you adopted a Golden or a piranha. Here’s...

Hey Reader Dog’s walked on leashes sometimes don’t care that they’re on a leash… and they definitely don’t care that you’re attached to the other end of it, especially if they’re on a mission. So, if you dread walking your dog because… well… your 70 lb Golden is actually walking you, keep reading because we’ve got a trick for you. First thing’s first... you are the boss. That doesn’t mean being harsh or yanking them back every five steps. It means setting the tone before you ever hit the...

Hey Reader, If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably bought your fair share of “must-have” puppy toys… ropes, squeakers, tennis balls, plush animals, you name it. You bring them home, expecting your puppy to lose their mind over the new squeaky duck… and instead, they run right past it to chew on your shoelace. Here’s the thing your puppy isn’t telling you… Their favorite toy isn’t the one with the loudest squeak or the fanciest packaging. It’s you. Your voice.Your attention.Your time....
